Friday Night Workshop!

About the Event
If you have ever asked yourself what psychotherapy is, if you could profit from speaking to a counselor or just wanted to know more about REBT, this is a good opportunity to easily and anonymously find those answers in an informal and hopefully entertaining atmosphere.
Friday night workshops, FNW, are a longtime tradition of the Albert Ellis Institute and, indeed, New York city. In short, FNWs are demonstrations of Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy, REBT. First a brief introduction to REBT is given. Then, volunteers from the audience present problems they are having and based on REB-Therapy, they are shown how to better deal with that issue. Problems being discussed may range from, but are not limited to, self-esteem, relationships, work or family.
What to expect
After an interactive introduction to REBT, participants will be asked to present a problem to the therapist for a discussion. Using REBT methods, a live interactive demonstration with the therapist and participant will be given.
Based on the demonstration, participants will be able to learn how REBT helps people to better deal with emotional problems. Participation is completely voluntary and anonymous. There will also be plenty of time for questions an answers.
